The Impact of Class Gifts
We are exceptionally grateful for a number of Class Gifts that have made, and continue to make a critical difference to students, projects and ideas at MBS.
The Classes of 1968 and 1969
To celebrate their respective 30th graduation anniversaries, alumni from the MBA Classes of 1968 and 1969 pledged gifts to support two scholarships for outstanding MBA students. Since 1999, more than 15 students have had their education supported by the generosity of proud alumni.
The EMBA Class of 2003
Inspired by their month spent studying overseas, the EMBA Class of 2003 gave a collective Class Gift of over $25,000 to mark their graduation. This Gift created a travel bursary to support MBA students on their exchange to other leading global business schools. Emboldened by their philanthropy, the Class now seeks to make a larger endowment gift to support the education of other deserving students.
The Class of 2005
The Class of 2005 decided to do something positive for future generations of MBS students so joined together to give a gift that would grow into a scholarship - helping deserving students pursue an MBS education. Today, through a combination of monthly, quarterly and yearly gifts, their gift continues to grow. By the time of their fifth reunion in 2010 the Class will award their first Scholarship.
The Class of 2006
The Class of 2006 also decided to leave a legacy of their time at the School by collectively making gifts to form a scholarship that would support the education of future MBS students. As with the Class of 2005, they too make regular monthly, quarterly and annual gifts as their Class Gift continues to build.
The EMBA Class of 2007
Sensing a unique opportunity to come together and do something positive for others, the EMBA Class of 2007 raised over $40,000 to support two projects. Their Class Gift is funding an MBA internship at a not-for-profit organisation and is also supporting ovarian cancer research at the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.
