Distinguished Alumni Award
Eminent Australian businessman Mr John Ralph AC was awarded the 2007 Distinguished Alumni Award at the Annual Alumni Dinner on Tuesday 27 November.
John Ralph is recognised as a man of integrity and achievement; a man who has generously and inconspicuously provided support for many different kinds of community affairs and interests, particularly for young people, and a man whose vision laid the intellectual foundation for Melbourne Business School.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Ralph said: "I am indeed honoured to receive this award associated as it is with the Melbourne Business School, an institution which I regard so highly."
About the awards
The Melbourne Business School Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honour that MBS can bestow on an alumnus. Each year the award is presented to an individual (or individuals) demonstrating the ultimate in professional achievement, service to society or service to the School, its students and alumni.
Launched in 2006, the MBS Distinguished Alumni Award was created to recognise alumni who have:
- demonstrated excellence in their professional lives
- made meaningful contributions to the society in which they live and work or
- has contributed to the enrichment of the School, its alumni or its students.
Past award winners
The inaugural DAA was presented to Margaret Jackson AC (MBA 1982) at the 2006 Annual Alumni Dinner.
