1960s

Philip Cooper (MBA 1969) advises the Class of 1969 that a 40th anniversary is planned for 2009. Timing is expected to be mid-Autumn "when the days are crisp and fine and the nights conducive to the enjoyment of a warm fire, good food and good wine". Bruce Murray (MBA 1968) has continued his involvement with education after finishing his MBA, holding teaching and alumni and community relations roles throughout his career.

1970s

1980s

After graduating from the Advanced Management Program in 1984, Bruce Edmonds worked in numerous Government roles, including Town Clerk of the City of Ipswich (Queensland), management consultant to local and state governments and Chair of the Local Government Training Council Queensland. Now semi-retired, he maintains an interest in government management issues and affairs.

James HearneJames Hearne (PhD 1986) established Hearne Scientific Software Pty Ltd, which develops and distributes analytical software.

Now retired, Tony Gay (AMP 1983) had a long career in the Australian public service, working in different government departments including the Insurance & Superannuation Commission and the Australian Taxation Office.

London-based Warrick Bray (MBA 1988) has a corporate finance role with Babcock and Brown. Previously he was a partner McKinsey and Co., London, and Managing Director of JP Morgan.

Bronwyn Street (MBA 1988) is a Senior Consultant at Global Philanthropic and a board member for the Australian Public Service Benevolent Society. She is also Chair of Madison Down Under, an intensive live-in fundraising program. In 2002 she received a Fundraising Award for Excellence in recognition of her achievements.

As well as being one of the few female directors of a consulting engineering practice in Australia, Elizabeth Coe (MDP 1988) – of Umow Lai Pty Ltd – is also an Australian rollerskating champion.

1990s

Vivien Ellard (MBA 1990) works with the Victorian Government in the Department of Innovation Industry & Regional Development in Regional Broadband.

Robyn McLachlan (MMT 1999) is Chief Operating Officer of the Melbourne-based Cooperative Research Centre for Chronic Inflammatory Diseases.

Kieran Netting (MBA 1998) has recently been appointed Director of BDO Kendalls, based in Melbourne.

Carl Chirgwin (MBA 1998) continues to operate CSG Demining Consultants, the Landmine and Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Remediation consulting company he established in 1999. Locations of recent projects include Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Oman, Lebanon, Iran, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Mozambique, Taiwan, Sri Lanka and Australia.

Mike Game with his daughterMike Game (MBA 1996) has a new position as CEO Asia for US listed recruitment services company, Hudson Highland Group. Mike is based in Hong Kong with his wife and 4 young children.

Stephen Gough (MBA 1999) is "back in his old stamping ground" - the residential property market in Melbourne.

Bob Allardice (MBA 1988) is a Consultant with Open Business Solutions. He is married with two children.

Mike Probyn (MMT [Tech] 1998) now lives in Poland and has worked as Advisor on Business and IT Strategy to the President of the Polish state insurance company, PZU Life, and now is Portfolio Manager for Misys Plc.

Julie Strous (formerly Lewis) (MBA 1998) is Executive Director of the Australian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC).

Craig Albiston (MBA 1998) is General Manager – Commerce at PGA Group in Melbourne.

Marcus Coghlan (MBA 1998) works for BHP Billiton in Singapore.

Phillip Noble (MBA 1998) recently started his own strategy consulting firm, Strategic Project Partners.

Darren Schwedes (MBA 1998) is Commercial manager for MIA Victoria, a diagnostic imaging provider.

Anthony McKenna (MBA 1998) has completed his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification and was working for Mitchell Madison Group before moving to Kilkenny Holdings. He lives in Melbourne with his wife and three sons.

2000s

Kathy McLean (MBA 2000) recently moved to Canberra to open a new office of her firm, Fish & Nankivell Executive Search. She became a full partner of the firm in 2006 and has established a very successful practice in a range of community-related sectors including sport, education, charity and government. She now commutes between Melbourne and Canberra. She loves the Canberra sunshine, but misses sailing on Port Phillip and watching the Cats at Kardinia Park.

Since graduating from the PDM in 2004, Diana Nelson (formerly McKellar) has started undertaking property development whilst raising two boys (aged one and three).


Ash Vesali (MBA 2006) works for General Motors as Asia Pacific Commodity Leader and is expecting his first child in July.

Fiona AdlerFiona Adler (formerly Harrington) (MBA 2007) became the 3rd Australian woman to reach the summit of Mt Everest in 2006. Following her MBA, she and a partner launched www.WOMOW.com.au - a user-generated directory for for Word Of Mouth On the Web.

Kenneth Kung (MBA 2005) was appointed Financial Director - International for a public British company Mouchel in April 2008. He will be based in Dubai and oversee the international operation of the company.

Fiona Broussard (MBA 2003) used her MBA to successfully move out of the chemistry laboratory and into technology commercialisation in her role as Business Development Manager for CRC Polymers Ltd. Fiona is married to fellow MBS alumnus John McCaffrey (MBA 2003).

After taking a career break, Tamara Boldiston (MBA 2003) found her dream job in Melbourne as Victorian Business Manager - Commercial, for Clicks IT Recruitment.

Lacroix Laurent (MBA 2003) lives in France where he is IT Manager for shipping company CMA CGM.

Peter McGrath (MBA 2003) is a Cost Investigator with the Defence Department.

After completing her MBA, Michelle Rayner (MBA 2003) worked at ANZ for two years in Business Development and Strategy before moving to London to work for Lloyds TSB. She now lives in Switzerland where she is Global Private Banking Lead for Credit Suisse's One Bank Program.

Amanda Utz (formerly Swartz) (MBA 2003) is Senior Manager of Regional Marketing for The Home Depot. She lives in Atlanta with her husband.

Formerly Director of Major Gifts at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School in North Carolina, Chris Harris (MBA 2003 [exchange]), is now a Fundraising Systems Consultant with Blackbaud Inc.

Andrew Jeffery Flannagan (MBA 2006) has recently finalised the MBA/JD program and has been selected as a Director role in Executive Search with Carmichael Fisher in Melbourne specialising in corporate finance. He has also been appointed to two international boards. Mr. Flanagan has become a Fellow at the Australian Instititute of Management, Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of Law Institute of Victoria.
