Executives and senior managers work in demanding environments. You have high expectations of yourself and your organisation. But it's difficult to find the time to gain the capabilities necessary to perform at a top executive level.

Most full-time study requires up to 18 months off work. Few companies want to lose valued managers for that much time. And few senior managers want this sort of interruption to their careers. Part-time study can be problematic for busy executives forced to juggle work, travel, and personal commitments.

The Melbourne Business School Executive MBA is designed to address these challenges of long-term study commitment. The EMBA is ideal for executives and senior managers ready to position themselves for the next major step in an already successful career.

It's been specifically developed to meet the real needs of senior managers who are committed to serious, intensive study and development, but struggle to find the time:

  • Four one-month fully-residential modules over a 14-month period
  • You'll return home and to your workplace and apply your learning during the three to four months between modules
  • No formal study requirements between modules

Meeting the requirements of a full MBA is, by necessity, intensive. Our program is residential, with classes running from Monday to Saturday. Faculty contact is up to 40 hours a week, with at least a further 30 hours of private study, preparation and team exercises. Individual consultations with faculty form an important part of the program. Evenings are devoted to syndicate assignments, and preparing for the following day's classes.

The EMBA program is designed to minimise disruption to your professional and personal life. There is no requirement to leave your current job.  Employers experience minimal disruption to the workplace, and they get an immediate return on investment through the immediate application of ideas. There are blocks of time away from home, but participants can then enjoy weekends and free time with loved ones during the rest of the year.

There are three Melbourne-based modules, conducted at Melbourne Business School's fully residential facility in Carlton, Victoria. The international module is conducted in the USA, Germany and China. Students are required to be in residence for the entire duration of each module.
