The Women and Management Dinner (WAM) is one of the signature events held annually by Melbourne Business School. The first WAM dinner took place in 1992 and since then has steadily gained momentum. Recognised as a premier event, WAM’s popularity continues to soar largely due to the engaging and intimate format which is adopted year after year.
In 2012, Melbourne Business School is delighted to welcome keynote speaker Ms Naomi Milgrom AO, BA, HonDBus, Executive Chair and Chief Executive Officer, Sussan/Sportsgirl Group.
Naomi Milgrom is a business leader, entrepreneur, philanthropist and a leading figure in Australian fashion, arts and culture.
As the Executive Chair and CEO of the Sussan/Sportsgirl Group, Australia’s largest privately owned women’s fashion retailer, which includes Sportsgirl, Sussan and Suzanne Grae, Ms Milgrom has played a prominent role in promoting the Australian retail and fashion industries nationally and internationally.
In 2011, Ms Milgrom was the first woman to be awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Business by RMIT. This follows a Distinguished Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award from Monash University in 2010, and in 2009, she was the first female to receive the Ernst & Young Champion of Entrepreneurship Award Southern Region. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Melbourne Business School Centre for Ethical Leadership, and her contribution to the community was recognised when she was awarded an AO in 2010 and appointed a member of the Council for the Order of Australia.
As well as being a Trustee of the National Gallery of Victoria, and a member of Chief Executive Women, Ms Milgrom is the former Chair of the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, an Inaugural Board Member of the Australian Council of Businesswomen and served for 14 years as a board member of the Howard Florey Institute.
