What happened to your gift?

Nov, 2008

It has been another record-breaking year of giving from alumni and friends of the School.

Philanthropic gifts continue to support excellence and opportunity at MBS, enabling the School to make a powerful difference to business, government and community across the globe. We look forward to reporting on these projects from "the field" over the coming months.

The initiatives supported through donor support in 2008:

• Though the MBA internship program, at least three current MBA students will be funded to work with NGOs and not-for-profit organizations in health, welfare, environment and the arts

• A student from overseas who sold all his assets to do the Melbourne MBA, and is struggling financially, has been awarded a bursary to assist with tuition fees

• Michelle Evans – the first Indigenous PhD scholar at MBS – has been awarded a scholarship to allow her to study full-time. Her thesis will explore existing and emerging approaches to developing Indigenous leaders in the Arts

• Emerging leaders in disadvantaged communities and the not-for-profit sector will be supported by scholarships to pursue leadership development in Mt Eliza Executive Education

• Students wishing to undertake the Industry Studies in Asia elective, but who are struggling financially, will be assisted through a bursary program

• Students will be able to monitor and analyse real-time financial market data movements through a Bloomberg Terminal in the McLennan Library, supported through donor funds

The School warmly thanks you for your participation.

There is still time to make a gift and make your support count in 2008.
